News should be communicated effectively to the viewer to get the message right and clear and should not be a laughing matter most of the time.
Unhealthy completion with other channels is also not a matter to be appreciated, because the viewers love all the channe depending on different likes towards the programs.

NEWS means inform us what happened,happening and will happen around the North,East,West and South.
so,I don't think so the way presenters speaking must be very seriously to inform it.

Harendra go and tell stories to your children.

His way of reading the news is nauseating and pathetic to listen to - If he really wants to learn how to present the news , I suggest he view/listen to footage/voice cuts of ravi John , Arun Dias , Noelene honter , Prema keerthi De alwis and the rest . Dear Harendra, You did wonders at Swarnawahini as a news reader at the early stages and also you were quite amazing when you were conducting the Ama Dhahara. But from the recent times your appearence with lot of SHAKES and TOO MUCH OF ADJECTIVES prior to the reading of a news article was so horrid to watch. While wishing you all the best with your new venture, I humbly advise you to refrain teaching the younger crowd the artificial body jesters but to concentrate on the voice factor and the correct and appropriate presentation.

Harendra is a talleted annoncer.His programs are creative and popular.Specially Ama dahara.but some times his news presentation is too much.Also why u present sad things more. we want the core parts of news.News is not a create thng. but swarnawahini news is a create one,so we can't touch real news.sirasa channel tries to present real.but some times they telecasts lies.Also they blame one side.If u try telecast truth news without blaming others,ur news may be 1st.when u are blaming other parties, is it a news.ITN news is not balanced. it only for government.it is not for us.good luck Harendra.u are great.

I'm really glad to see the comments here. It shows us still we Sri Lankans have some dignity and have a feeling of what is right. This man has nothing to do with the way the news is presented. There is a whole group of managers and directors behind the scene too. I personally know some of them and they are even helpless when it comes to what to be telecast and how it should be. It is true, the news in almost all the channels sound horrible and it is not for the knowledgeable audience. And it is not meant for them too. Because it is targeted to the most of the laymen out there wandering. It is not one person that is so pathetic, but the downfall of the moral values and the society as a whole.
